Hi there sports fans...it's been a jammed packed couple of weeks for the tourists in the UAE. We've tackled the traffic and construction of Dubai to get to Wild Wadi and spend the day pitted in deep barrels and sliding down thrilling rides (most of which jet you upwards with high propulsion jets while sitting in a rubber-tube). we travelled there in convoy with our neighbours and their kids, so we basically didn't see B1 and 2 until the end of the day or they wanted something to eat. The kids had a great time and the queues were very small by comparison to other theme parks. FS seeked out the thrill rides, NS chased the barrels of the wave pool (thought he was surfing Southy on a low tide March weekend), although the rules prohibited standing up, it was so good! B3 loved the pirate maze and water park area with cannons and slides and B4 enjoyed the wave pool beach area and family ride slides.
The boys all finally got some new bikes, so now they can keep up with the other village kids and if the heat isn't wearing them out, the racing around the village is certainly causing some red faces and heat exhaustion.
Weather is getting hotter, so indoor activities are taking over although in the early morning and evening it is very pleasant. It's funny to see FS discovering some of the frustrating and convoluted ways of the UAE. Funny, because i went through the same thing.
We'll keep you posted over the coming weeks.
Hi to all and sundry. We miss you all, feel like we've been gone for years already, but all having a good time of it.

Good to see you all enjoying water activities in the desert! Bit hard to place FS in her Burka - is that her second from left refusing to put on the "vest" (lets face it the vest is bulky and not something you would be seen in back home)
Missing you all

Glad to see you having such fun, Wet'n'Wild was a good rehearsal. Pleased to see FS is dressing modestly, although black and yellow have never been a good combination for her, basic black would be better.Hope NS keeps covered up too!!

Looks like your having some fun over there which is great to see. 12 seconds of pitted time would equate to your whole life of pitted time on the nortern beaches. Hang on maybe it equates to the amount of time that you have racked up on waves alone over the past 5 years.Looks like fun though was expecting some of the patented slick pigdog.
Missing the Family antics in OZ. I have alot of people asking about how you are all going over there so the blog site is a great way to fill them all in.
Your dream team skills have let you down. Just remember you must at all costs work through the pain!

I really enjoyed hearing your voices last night and seeing the pic updates in latest blog made it even better. Think B1 might soon be taller than FS. Guess it will be worth the drive out to Dubai for the thrills of waves.Love B3's bike and he's now riding it without trainers.
Well done!
Love M & D
Are the men in the background of photos with the ladies wearing burkas all naked...all I can see are black moustashes and hairy chests...no wonder the ladies are wanting to put life vests on. I had to get the map out to explain to the kids that you are not just staying in Lakemba but are in fact half way around the world. It is great to see the happy snaps, everyone looks like they are adapting well to the resort lifestyle...I'm desparate to hear about Mothers Group at the Hilton. All well back home, apart from the fact we have no maid. Please keep your eye out for any advertising jobs in UAE, LC may not want to go, but I want to! Miss you all heaps. Lots of love LC,CC,WC, IC.
